The PD Committee is pleased to present a 1-hour evening session for Jr High and Sr High Humanities teachers led by Dr. Teresa Zackodnik, Professor of English and Film Studies at the UofA
This session will present an academic, research based approach to developing teacher skill sets and tools related to approaching conditions that have been layered with challenges in the past year for students and teachers alike
Participants can expect a show and share of the first year introduction to research course at the University of Alberta (ENGL 103 - Case Studies in Research) focusing on data visualization to represent student research, close reading, and critical thinking in order to produce a map of Black presence and place-making as entangled with First Nations sovereignty on the prairies.
